Please note, any tasks/duties to be carried out are specified in a care plan. If you require any further services to be included, this must be communicated with management.

Services we can provide

Personal Care

	We encourage the service user to be as active & independant as possible, when this is not possible we are able to attend to every need. The individual is treated with dignity and respect in all matters of personal care. All carers are trained to use hoists & other equipment in aiding with personal care.

Meals/Food Preperation

	Care Assistants are able to prepare & cook meals for the service user, we aim to maintain a balanced diet. The Care Assistant will listen to the service user and cater for their individual taste, help with feeding is also provided in a non-patronising & discrete way. Any 'aids to daily living' are also maintained by the Care Assistant, this may include special shaped cutlery or drinking mugs with lids/spouts.

Medication Prompting

	GJ Care recognise that medication is an important part of many service users life in order to maintain a healthy, stable daily life. Care Assistants are able to assist service users with medication in providing the required dosage on a saucer or other recpticle. Care Assistants are not able to give or become involved in the taking of medicines. Creams & Powders can be applied by the Care Assistant externally.

Housekeeping

	Housekeeping can be an individual call or provided as part of a package. General housekeeping is provided from hoovering to dishwashing.

Shopping

	If required, shopping calls can be catered for. Care Assistants can become involved in checking levels of foodstuffs & domestic items. Taking the service user out shopping can be catered for if mobility allows.

Day Sitting

	If a service user requires company/day sitting. A Care Assistant can provide the perfect comfort companion. GJ Care match interests & tastes of the service user to a Care Assistant to ensure the best possible companion.

Nights/Sleep in care

	Night calls & sleeps can be incorporated into care packages providing through the night care. An on-call manager is always available Via telephone also, ensuring complete care & peace of mind.

Social Activities/Outings

	To enable the service user to maintain an active lifestyle, accompanying to social activities & outings is available. The Care Assistant can in most cases transport the service user to their activities and provide on-hand assistance and accompaniment.

Domestic Duties/Laundry/Ironing

	Domestic duties can form part of housekeeping but also include laundry & ironing. This can be provided as one call or part of a package.
